LAIDLAW LAUNCHES DIRECT SERVICE FROM

EDMONTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO JASPER

Edmonton, Alberta, January 7, 2000 - Today Laidlaw Transportation and Edmonton Airports launch a new non-stop ground link service from Edmonton International Airport to Hinton and Jasper hotels.

"This new service shows our commitment to promote Edmonton International Airport as a gateway to the natural attraction of the Jasper recreational area", said Lew Aldrich, General Manager of Laidlaw's Rockies Region.

According to Mr. Scott Clements, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edmonton Airports "the Jasper Express enhances Edmonton International Airports profile as a gateway to the Rockies while providing an essential link to establishing the Edmonton-Jasper corridor as a world-class tourism destination".

The General Manager of Jasper Park Lodge, Mr. Kevin Toth states "the Jasper Ski Consortium is extremely excited about the Laidlaw express service between the Town of Jasper and Edmonton International Airport. We look forward to supporting this worthwhile transportation between our communities."

The Jasper Express will depart Jasper daily at 7AM, arrive at the Crestwood Hotel in Hinton at 7:45AM and Edmonton International Airport at 11AM. The service departs Edmonton International Airport daily at Arrivals Level at 4:30PM and arrives in Jasper at 9PM. One-way tickets are priced at $55.00 including GST. A round-trip ticket costs $110.00 including GST.

Reservations can be made by dialing 1-800-661-4946 or 1-403-762-9102 or via fax at 1-403-762-9210. Passengers without reservations can access the service on a seat availability basis by direct contact with the driver at Edmonton International Airport and participating Jasper and Hinton hotels.
